TEAM LEAD JOB DESCRIPTION In addition to FS Stylist responsibilities, A Fantastic Sams Team Lead ensures the success of the business by providing fantastic guest service at all times, building and leading a successful work team, and maintaining operational excellence. The Team Lead balances these priorities while following all company policies, procedures and consistently directing the staff and self to build a strong base of return guests.
TEAM LEADS PERFORM THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Align with and carry out salon Mission/Vision/Values and provide Fantastic Guest Service.
- Provide Fantastic Guest Service
- Lead the team to deliver fantastic guest service by adhering to all FS service standards.
- Train and ensure the team utilizes the 5 step Guest Service System including the 3-3-3 process.
- Train and prepare all team members to provide excellent service to a diverse clientele base.
- Spend at least 85% of scheduled work hours performing hair services on guests and meet personal productivity goals.
- Handle guest complaints with diplomacy and professionalism, always looking to offer a solution that will strengthen the salon’s relationship with the dissatisfied guest.
- Create and maintain a welcoming salon environment for guests and team members.
- Lead by example. Be on time, runway ready, for each shift with a positive, energetic attitude to promote success within the salon.
- Meet personal service goals and product sales of 10%
BUILD AND LEAD A SUCCSSFUL WORK TEAM
- Assist manager with hiring and onboarding process.
- Act as a coach and mentor to each team member.
- Identify the skill development needed for each stylist and work with manager to ensure each team member has the best opportunity for success.
MAINTAIN OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
- Assists Manager as needed with operational duties.
- Ensure salon operates efficiently with little to no waste.
- Maintain all safety, TDLR and hygiene standards.
- Implement daily/weekly/monthly housekeeping and cleaning duties and hold the team accountable to maintain them.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Cosmetology certification, 3 years relevant work experience or equivalent
- Cosmetology license
- Advanced competencies in salon service and product sales.
- Knowledge of State board of Cosmetology regulations and hiring requirements.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build a strong and productive team environment.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- On a regular basis, requires the ability to walk.
- On a regular basis, requires the ability to reach with hands and arms.
- On a regular basis, requires the ability to stand for a minimum of 4 hours.
- On a regular basis, requires the ability to lift +/- 20 pounds.
