Key Responsibilities:
+ Manage and oversee month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
+ Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), specifically tailored to nonprofit financial reporting guidelines.
+ Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, audit processes, and donor restrictions on funds.
+ Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are properly balanced.
+ Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and grant reporting, ensuring funds are allocated efficiently and effectively.
+ Collaborate with program directors and leadership teams to provide financial insight and support.
+ Develop strategies to streamline accounting processes, ensuring efficiency without compromising accuracy.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
+ Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the nonprofit sector (Source: MC24 Job Search Guide US eBook.pdf).
+ Comprehensive knowledge of nonprofit accounting practices, including fund accounting and grant reporting requirements.
+ Proficient in financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Blackbaud) and advanced Excel skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
+ Knowledge of audit preparation and tax filing for nonprofits is a plus.

The amount of Choice Time Off (CTO) received varies based on years of service and is pro-rated based on the hours worked per week.
