Job Description

Summary:

D’Youville’s Patricia H. Garman School of Nursing is seeking a dedicated Clinical Assistant Professor to join our faculty. This role involves providing leadership in teaching, service, and scholarly activities. We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply. Faculty rank will be determined based on education and qualifications.

Note: this role supports students in the Career Pathway training Program and is conditional based on confirmed enrollment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs in a collaborative governance environment.
  • Utilize a variety of active teaching strategies, including lectures, lab/clinical instruction, and online/hybrid formats to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Engage in scholarship according to the Boyer model, focusing on teaching, discovery, application, and engagement.
  • Participate in service activities that support the School of Nursing, the profession, and the community.
  • Hold office hours, mentor students, and serve on departmental and college committees.
  • Contribute to accreditation activities and strategic planning initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Preferred: Earned doctorate in nursing or a closely related field; Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • Unencumbered RN license to practice in New York or eligibility for licensure in New York.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • 3-5 years of academic experience in nursing with a record of teaching, service, and research.
  • Demonstrated engagement in scholarly activities and professional development.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment and focusing on student success.

Preferred: 

  • Experience in higher education and innovative pedagogy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and engage effectively with a diverse student population.
  • Capacity for light to moderate lifting and the ability to maintain professional competence in specialty areas.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 Annually
