Job Description

BluePrint Engines, a leading company in the performance engine manufacturing industry, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant work environment by leading the development, implementation, and management of safety protocols and training initiatives. Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities in Safety:

  • This position reports to the Plant Manager
  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal and organizational guidelines.
  • Prepare and enforce policies to promote a culture of health and safety.
  • Analyze safety data, look for trends, and make proactive proposals for improvement
  • Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risks and ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Environmental regulations.
  • Oversee technical certifications of employees including but not limited to fork trucks, lock out tag out, and new employee orientation
  • Conduct regular training sessions and presentations on workplace safety, hazard recognition, and accident prevention. 
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes, identify corrective actions, and manage worker’s compensation claims.
  • Lead safety inspections and audits to ensure safety protocols are effectively implemented and followed.
  • Manage employee safety programs and safety incentives to encourage a proactive safety culture.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to employees and managers on safety-related practices and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training sessions, and other safety-related documentation.
  • Oversee safety work orders for completion
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure safety is integrated into daily operations.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a safety-focused role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Solid understanding of OSHA standards and general industry safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Competent in training delivery and documentation management.
  • Team-oriented and capable of fostering a positive and safe work environment.
  • Experience planning and managing a budget in a manufacturing environment

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of occupational safety regulations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to investigate incidents thoroughly and write detailed reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Capable of handling sensitive situations with diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Ability to act with integrity and lead by example in promoting a safe workplace.

Work Environment

  • This position works in both office and production floor environments.
  • May require regular walk-throughs of the manufacturing area and physical inspections.

Hours

  • Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (additional hours may be required)

Compensation

  • $60,000 - $80,000 (Based on experience)
