SUMMARY

The Compliance Coordinator assist the compliance officer with the daily administration of all aspects of the casino-wide Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Compliance Program. The compliance coordinator is expected to be well organized, detailed oriented, have strong problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure, deliver on tight deadlines and have a keen interest in the ethical, legal and regulatory requirements of business operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in developing and/or revise policies, procedures, and programs in support of the administration of the casino's BSA program.
  • Assist with the regular training programs for employees on BSA-AML policies and procedures.
  • Assist in running suspicious activity reports.
  • Assist in investigating transactions that are suspicious in nature.
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking BSA-AML high-risk guests and accounts.
  • Assist in filing CTR's and SAR's with FINCEN on a timely basis.
  • Stay current and informed with changes to federal and state banking laws and regulations affecting the management, operations, and product offerings of the casino.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all matters related to compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

OTHER NECESSARY SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Attention to detail and accuracy is essential as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks. Must be able to work independently and have excellent organizational skills. Must possess good communication skills both verbal and written. Must have computer experience and a good working knowledge with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Must maintain a good working relationship between accounting and other enterprise departments and external agencies.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related area. OR 2 years of experience in business administration, compliance or auditing work. DRIVING REQUIREMENTS Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Tribes insurance carrier.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license 2 years of experience with casino related software/tracking systems

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED

Computer, copier, fax machine, multi-line phone system, ten key calculator, and other general office equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

May be required to lift, up to a maximum of 25lbs.occasionally. May also be required to reach, bend, stretch, kneel, crawl, lift and carry on occasion. Will be required to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended period. May be required to work long hours when necessary. Should have corrected normal range of hearing and sight.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS

Must effectively handle stressful and compromising situations while remaining focused and professional. Must be able to deal with difficult people without losing perspective. Must be able to work productively under strict time restraints with variable deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work performed is in both a smoking and non-smoking environment. Position may require occasional evenings, weekends and holidays. May be required to work over 40 hours per week. Some local and out of town travel may be required for further training and/or for the needs of the position.

Must be able to work flexible hours and to take on additional responsibilities when asked. Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality.
